What material is the WOOOM armchair made of?

·         It is made of nonwovens (also referred to as PET felt), i.e. polyester fibre and recycled bicomponent fibre.
·         This fibre can contain 60% “bottle flakes” produced from shredded PET bottles.
·         WOOOM uses bottle flakes that are sourced entirely from Europe.
·         These bottle flakes are melted at temperatures of approximately 280 °C and then directly processed into polyester fibre.

How is the nonwoven material shaped?
  • First, the nonwoven mat is cut roughly to size, then it is heated in an industrial furnace for 20 minutes at 200 °C.
  • Once this is done, the material is placed in a mould and inserted into a high-pressure press where it is compressed, cooled and cured and the desired end product achieves its final shape.
  • The resulting item is perfected in a CNC-controlled water-jet cutting system before any excess residual nonwoven materials are removed to create the appealing contours of the finished product.
How can the nonwoven material used in the WOOOM armchair be cleaned?

The nonwoven material used in the WOOOM is not only comfortable – it is also amazingly easy to care for. Here are a few care recommendations for best results:

  • Vacuum regularly (setting for textiles/curtains).
  • Soiling should always be treated immediately for best results.
  • Mop up liquids straight away – by blotting with an absorbent cloth.
  • Dried-on dirt must be brushed out with a soft brush to avoid damaging the finish.
  • Use commercially available dry foam cleaner for spot cleaning.
  • Small marks can also be cleaned with a magic eraser.
Which devices can you use to operate WOOOM?

  • iOS App
  • iPhone must support Bluetooth and NFC
  • iOS version 11.0 or later
  • iPhone7 or newer models
  • Android: Location sharing must be enabled, version 5.0 or later (version 7.0 or later is recommended)
What can you do if your lounge chair does not heat up?
  • Check to see whether the battery is charged and if it has been fully inserted.
  • Alternatively the power supply must be connected.
  • Caution: The occupancy sensor is not activated unless the user weighs at least 45 kg.
  • Check the plug and cable to make sure they are properly connected and not damaged.

What can you do if you are unable to connect to your WOOOM?
  • Once the battery has been inserted or the power supply has been connected, wait approximately 3 seconds for the system to start up before sitting down.
  • It is important that your device supports NFC.
  • Then activate Bluetooth and NFC on your phone.
  • Android devices scan constantly for an NFC connection, so pass your Android phone over the armrest first, and only tap the “Connect now” button once you have received the “NFC tag connected” message.
  • iPhones, on the other hand, will only scan for NFC connections if prompted by the user. First tap the “Connect now” button, and then pass your device along the armrest.
  • Caution: The NFC chip is located in the top of the device with the iPhone (near the camera), in Samsung models it is often below the camera.
What can you do if you are unable to connect to your WOOOM even after successfully establishing an NFC connection?
  • Check to see whether your WOOOM is connected to a power source and whether the battery is charged and fully inserted.
  • Alternatively the power supply must be connected.
  • If the circuit is broken during use (power supply disconnected and/or battery removed), please stand up for 1–2 seconds, and then confirm the message in the app so that the chair reconnects. (This is a safety measure that prevents the chair from restarting)
  • Alternatively, you can terminate the app and then restart it on your device.
What does the occupancy sensor do?
  • WOOOM has an occupancy sensor built into the seat. It is only possible to connect WOOOM with the smartphone if someone is sitting in the chair.
  • The light, massage and heating are only active if someone is sitting in the chair. These functions switch off automatically approximately 10 seconds after the chair is vacated, after which the chair is disconnected from the phone.
  • Charging via USB works regardless of whether the chair is occupied or a phone is connected.
What can you do if you are unable to operate any of the functions?

Always activate the main switch for each function first – this is located at the top right edge of the screen.

How can you see how much charge is left?
  • Press and hold the check button for approx. 2 seconds – this allows you to read off the charge status according to the colour: LED colour RED  <30%, YELLOW 30–90%, GREEN >90%.
How long will the battery last?

WOOOM offers various different settings and the manner in which the chair is used significantly affects how long it will operate between charges. Here are some empirical values:
·         Heating at highest level: approx. 3.5 hours
·         Massage at maximum level: approx. 12 hours
·         Light at maximum brightness: approx. 26 hours
·         Combination of heating, massage & light: approx. 2.5 hours
