The Moteo office chair from Klöber epitomises tailor-made lightness of motion. Designer Jörg Bernauer from the Klöber team has embodied a new harmony of body and movement in a fluid, minimalist design.

With its high-tech materials and distinctive design, Moteo enriches the office environment with a valuable innovation tailored to human needs. The Klöber Moteo received the Red Dot 2010 award and was nominated for the Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland 2011 design award.

For 75 years now, Klöber's fascination with new ideas for healthy sitting have seen the company forever striking out in new directions. Ergonomics has always been the greatest source of inspiration for this medium-sized company from Germany's Baden region. Klöber approaches design as a synthesis of ergonomics and emotion. The latest findings and inventions from the fields of science and technology are incorporated into the product development process. Familiar products are applied in unfamiliar ways and areas. It was the company's unconventional approach to the use of familiar materials which ultimately gave rise to the notion of seating that appears to defy gravity - a creative feat by Klöber's development technicians who developed the celligence® system which features as standard on Moteo.

Moteo transforms the office swivel chair into something that defies gravity and is tailor-made for movement. Its design focuses on the essentials. The distinctive curvature of the back supports the seat and back upholstery in minimalist design. The backrest, seat and armrests interlock, flowing smoothly together. The tapered padding emphasises the slimline character of the design. The foam structure contains intelligent controlling mechanisms: the celligence®-system. The intuitive system follows an individual’s dimensions and habits, it provides fantastic support while you sit. The feeling of weightlessness, yet of being supported, is the secret of Moteo’s healthy comfort. The chair provides support wherever it is required.

The celligence®-system redefines the ergonomics of office task chairs with an innovative foam structure in the seat and back upholstery. Body weight and movement cause controlled changes. These result in balance and stability. The airflow within the foam constantly follows the sitting position to support the posture. The feeling of weightlessness combined with support is the secret of Moteo’s healthy comfort. The celligence®-system keeps the sitter active at the four key points. The lumbar support ensures that the lower back is in a state of equilibrium, the pelvic support gives a well-balanced posture, the shoulder support takes care of lateral movement to the right and left, and there is also pelvic positioning to ensure a straight back. The system reacts auto-adaptively, initiated by movement and body weight. The air pressure in the seat can be manually adjusted for individual comfort.

The design logically gives rise to a minimalist aesthetic. Moteo points the way to a distinctive office environment in clear and uncompromising style. Flowing lines and slimline structures are possible with today’s technological advancements. These unique features also foster concentration, straight thinking and relaxation.

Klöber has developed the Perfect, Style and Classic design lines for Moteo. These different lines underscore personal preferences. In matt silver, high-gloss lacquer or stylish wood - Moteo lends a lasting individual lightness of touch to the modern office environment.
