Biotest AG saves lives.
As a global company that supplies plasma protein products and biotherapeutic drugs, Biotest offers people with serious and often chronic illness a realistic perspective on a virtually normal life. Biotest products are primarily used for applications in clinical immunology, haematology and intensive care medicine.
They have had plenty to keep them busy at Biotest, especially since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The company collaborated with the Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association, appealing to people who had already had COVID and subsequently recovered to donate plasma to help COVID-19 patients.
The group headquarters in Dreieich accommodates 1,400 employees. Klöber chairs have already been used there in the past.
“They proved to be reliable and low-maintenance,” according to Julia Remy, who is responsible for laboratory and office space planning at Biotest. “That’s why another Klöber chair made it to the short list when the goal was to establish a standard,” she said.

The Mera Network swivel chair from Klöber with its plastic mesh backrest did indeed win over the decision-makers at Biotest. “The Mera model was selected because of its specification – the special mesh backrest and variable adjustment options met our expectations in terms of ergonomics and design,” explained Eckhard Hofstätter, who works alongside Julia Remy in laboratory and office space planning at Biotest.
As part of the project to bring the workstations up to standard in the Biotest offices, the conference rooms also underwent a refit. Mera chairs were used in these spaces too – in this case they opted for the conference swivel chair specification with mesh back and the cantilever chair with mesh back.
The feedback is positive. “We’re happy with the products as well as the service,” confirmed Julia Remy.
So Klöber has won over another customer, whose own product range is as diverse as the different specifications of their new Mera chairs.
