HISTORY NEEDS FUTURE

The municipal offices in Hengelo – an important industrial centre in the Dutch region of Twente – underwent a refit in 2020. The goal of the project was to retain as many of the existing elements in the 1963 building as possible. Renovation of the civic function room turned out to be the hardest part of this, because the space needed to be functional – meeting today’s audio and video technology standards yet keeping many of the original features. 

In this room, where Hengelo’s history and future come together, wireless charging points for mobile phones were integrated into woodwork crafted by KP Interieur. And they’re still writing their history – on Moteo chairs from Klöber: a total of 49 Moteo Perfect chairs were delivered to Hengelo. There were 45 conference swivel chairs, three task chairs and one highback task chair for the chairman of the council.  These Moteo chairs with their matt silk finish support healthy, mobile sitting effortlessly.
