PSP Architekten Ingenieure has designed the new administrative building of medac GmbH in Wedel, Germany as a reinforced concrete skeleton structure with an all-round roof terrace on the upper two storeys.
Surprise features come in the form of hovering cubes on the two short sides. This is where the pharmaceutical group holds conferences and reaches decisions on important developments. The light and airy building extends over three storeys plus a basement with underground garage, covering 4,000 square metres of floor space in all. Extensive glazing presents a transparent face to the surrounding urban area. Monumental white brackets keep a firm hold on the staggered structure.
