Register nowKlöber’s new sustainable shell chair is 100% recyclable. Owingen, February 2020 Sustainability’s coming home in the shape of the little WOOOM from Klöber. The new low shell chair is made from recycled polyester from reclaimed PET plastic bottles. This conserves precious resources and gives the chair an elegant cantilever structure. The little WOOOM is an eye-catcher at the dining table, in living rooms and hallways – and it’s 100% recyclable.
Maximum quality, minimum environmental footprint – the little WOOOM makes this possible. The new low shell chair from Klöber brings a cosy feel to every home, as well as style and a clear environmental conscience. Its clean lines and three different shell styles make it the ideal chair for furnishing the home. Its cantilever structure and slim proportions are very attractive – just like its technology. “Sustainable resource handling is as important to us as our customers are,” says Ralf Johow, Senior Director Sales and Marketing at Klöber GmbH. “That’s why we use easily replaceable components and durable recycled materials in our products – without cutting corners in terms of quality.” The most recent example of this is the WOOOM shell chair.
100% recyclable
What makes the little WOOOM so sustainable is its use of an innovative nonwoven material. It is mouldable, lightweight and robust, absorbs sound and retains its shape well. But most importantly it is 100% recyclable. The material used for the low WOOOM shell chair with a pleasant felted texture and in light or dark grey consists of up to 60 per cent reclaimed polyester fibre made from PET bottles. The Cura upholstery fabric is made from an impressive 98% recycled polyester. Further positive characteristics of the shell chair include a very low static charge, skin-friendly properties in line with the OEKOTEX® Standard 100, resistance to pilling, high abrasion-resistance and good to outstanding light-fastness in line with the ISO norm.
A variety of combinations for a sustainable lifestyle
Klöber offers three different variants: low (woo56), low with raised sides (woo57) and low with raised sides and armrests (woo58). The seat is upholstered and the backrest not upholstered for all three options. Each shell variant can be combined with three different types of base. The four-legged chair with wooden base is available in the colours beech natural, beech black and oak. The steel skid base is 12 mm thick and available in black, white-grey or high-gloss chrome. There is a choice of two seat heights (40 cm and 44 cm, not height adjustable, no return mechanism) for the star base swivel variant. The 4-star aluminium base is available in a black, white-grey or polished finish. Thanks to the large number of possible combinations, the little WOOOM fits in with diverse interior styles and can be used flexibly. The low shell chair is perfect for any living space, and is a synonym for a lifestyle that’s both discerning and sustainable: maximum quality with minimum eco-footprint.
