Klöber is bringing a breath of fresh air to the world of office seating

Klöber operates in line with the principle of being “Consistently sustainable”. For us, sustainability starts at product development level. The use of recycled materials with environmental certificates such as Second Nature™ as well as recycling by material type and take-back guarantee are of central importance to Klöber right from the start.

Hey! Ever thought about sitting on a plastic bottle? – No?!

Neither had we! But we have been thinking about the mountain of plastic bottles polluting the environment, and are developing solutions to give these bottles a second lease of life.

Klöber and Gabriel two companies, one idea!

“Hey! Hurrah for Cura!”

Allow us to introduce the new Cura fabric collection from our Danish partner Gabriel, one of Europe’s leading providers of furniture fabrics, blends premium quality with environmental values to create some impressive fabrics.

What makes Cura so refreshingly different?

Cura is a multi-purpose, two-coloured upholstery fabric made from 98% post-consumer recycled polyester. It fuses modern performance with a warm, informal aesthetic and a soft, full-bodied feel.

Naturally colourful for a sense of homeliness in the office

Cura’s casual, natural look creates a warm and inviting atmosphere and brings a relaxed feel to your desk. The fabric has a matt and slightly irregular looking texture, which allows Cura to imitate the aesthetic of natural fibres perfectly. The Cura colour palette is derived from the world of minerals, offering a harmonious balance of low-key, muted hues alongside brighter, bolder shades. Grey fibres form the underlying colour basis for a subtle yet vibrant melange effect, which really brings out the main colour.

Klöber offers 27 shades from the Cura colour Palette.

The Cura fabric collection from Gabriel is made from 98% post-consumer recycled polyester.

With Cura it’s even easier to reach a responsible choice. It goes without saying that Cura also carries the EU Eco-Label and is certified in accordance with Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX.

Gabriel’s recycled polyester fabrics are made from used plastic bottles that can no longer be used for their intended purpose. In terms of material properties, recycled and native polyester are the same.

The main difference is the environmental footprint. Manufacturing recycled polyester is less of a drain on energy and resources and causes fewer CO2 emissions than manufacturing native polyester. Instead of consuming resources and generating more waste, existing materials are recycled and reborn as a new product. This reduces the environmental footprint without compromising quality standards and technical performance.

Polyester a fusion of function and aesthetics

The polyester fabric consists of high-performance synthetic plastic fibres, specifically polyethylene terephthalate, or PET for short. It has a long lifespan and is durable. It’s practical – it’s easy to wash and dries fast. Polyester does not crease easily and retains its shape, and it can also be stretched and formed for high-performance upholstery applications.

Polyester fabric is highly versatile and can look and feel exactly as you wish. Whether you prefer a natural, glossy or high-tech look, polyester can imitate the appearance and texture of natural fibres like cotton, silk and wool, and is also easy to dye.
