The prize-winning favourite: the Connex2 task chair is off to a flying start
2018 couldn’t have got off to a better start for our Connex2 chair. This successful model has already notched up two illustrious awards. At the start of February it received the German Design Award 2018, which was immediately followed by the iF DESIGN AWARD 2018. In today’s blog article I’m going to tell you what makes our colleagues’ chair of choice so special, and why the juries picked it for the prizes.
iF DESIGN AWARD 2018
There are many design prizes. The iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hanover is a real institution. The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the most important design prizes in the world. It rewards design achievements from a variety of disciplines. Now our Connex2 chair has managed to convince the 63-strong jury of experts: it received the coveted award in the office category.
German Design Award 2018
The top-level jury at the German Design Council pronounced our Connex2 chair “well-rounded and coherent”, and presented it with the German Design Award in the Office Furniture category. What did the jury like so much about it?
The Design Council jury thinks our task chair is not only exceptionally comfortable, it also looks fantastic: “The striking aluminium element across the back of the chair underlines the modern look of the interesting design”. Our resident designer, Jörg Bernauer, is responsible for the characteristic Connex2 look, which is reflected throughout the product range.
New work models call for innovative seating solutions
The reasons given by the jury have strengthened our resolve, demonstrating that Connex2 will fulfil the requirements of tomorrow. In times of desk-sharing, co-working and similar models, it adapts to its user without a fuss. Just three control levers are needed to set the task chair correctly for the individual’s height and weight. The specially developed functions take care of everything else almost as if by magic.
The three-dimensional seat flexibility encourages the sitter to move around. The point-synchro mechanism means that the sitter is permanently in contact with the seat and backrest.
Creating colour highlights
The controls are colour-coded, making them extremely intuitive to use. They are available in classic black or off-white, or in brighter colours such as green or blue. Don’t forget – you can configure your Connex2 just the way you want it.
Incidentally: did you know that colours affect your psychological and physical wellbeing in the office? Colour and combinations can be used specifically to make the working space into a living space.
