Ecology – concrete and transparent

Ecology means more than the usual market certificates to Klöber.

The ecological data sheets make Klöber’s environmental management understandable and trackable. Tangible. Concrete. Transparent. We are not content with superficially formulated declarations, we go into detail. Every Klöber product is ecologically transparent as regards materials and ratio of new to recycled material, as well as recyclability.
In detail this means:
  • Strict adherence to PAH levels: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are persistent, toxic and ubiquitously distributed, and they are highly significant as environmental contaminants. Some PAHs have a carcinogenic effect on people. For this reason all materials that come into direct contact with the user are developed to be well below the generally prescribed limits.
  • Upholstery foam manufacture is CFC-free.
  • Low-emission materials are used, for instance lead-free steel.
  • Transparent material ratios ensure recycling by material type:Material ratios

Explanation using Itera as an example:
35 % aluminium of total product weight 23 kg
  • High recyclability of materials. Explanation using the example: Itera is 97-100% recyclable.
  • Declaration of recycled material ratio in the raw materials.

  • Explanation using the example:
Itera consists on average of 43 % recycled materials, in other words about 10 kg of the Itera task chair materials are recycled industry surplus

  • Adhesives are not used for Klöber upholstery fabrics. This ensures that many fabric covers can be changed, and saves replacing the entire upholstery when the cover needs replacing. The reduction in purchase of replacement materials constitutes an ecological benefit.
  • Use of certified upholstery fabrics:
    1. Second nature Recycled:
